Shropshire Engagement Shoot
An engagement session is not just to celebrate your recent good news. There’s a reason why many wedding photographers, including myself, offer them to their wedding couples. They are such an important part of your wedding photography journey. They allow us to get to know each other a bit better and build a bond. These pre-wedding shoots also provide an understanding of how we work best together, as well as providing experience in front of the camera and pinpointing the images that best represent you as a couple. I love the shorthand that I develop with my couples in engagement photoshoots and often combine them with one of your wedding consultations for a well spent afternoon of pre-wedding buzz.
I was really excited to meet Esther and Mark. I’d spoken with Esther a few times over the phone during lockdown and I was so excited for their intimate wedding at Davenport House in Bridgnorth. I loved Esther’s chic and relaxed wedding vision and couldn’t wait to hear more details. I met them at their Shropshire home for a relaxed shoot with the their gorgeous dog, Shelby. Regular visitors to my Instagram feed are well aware of my evangelical views on dogs at couples photography so when Shelby presented me with a measuring tape on arrival I knew I was in for a treat.
All joking apart the great thing about having a dog at your engagement session is that you can focus on them, which is the perfect way to feel more relaxed in front of the camera.
I had an amazing time with Esther and Mark against the backdrop of a beautiful garden and the photos that we created together are so informal and relaxed. Shelby was a dream to work with too, especially after his impromptu pond swim that had us all howling with laughter. I cannot wait to photograph them both with their beautiful family and friends in just a few weeks. The wedding countdown is on!
